Your Learning Experience

Each week Altruist Accelerator participants will access a mix of live and recorded video sessions, assignments, small group coaching, and interactive discussions. At the end of 10 weeks, your journey culminates in a pitch to Altruist Partners and corporate sponsor guests. The winner of this pitch competition will be awarded a grant of $10,000.

Note: Grant funds cannot be used for personal expenses. Altruist will donate the funds directly to the organization represented by the participant.

Program Topics

MODULE 1: Introduction & Evidence-Based Altruism

Learn how to apply the principles of effective altruism to achieve sustainable, real-world impact, with less stress on your staff and supporters.

MODULE 2: Goal Setting & Building The Right Team

Learn how to align your staff, stakeholders and board around an aspirational goal. Overview of performance capabilities needed to achieve progress toward goals.

MODULE 3: Strategic Business Plan

Work with your Accelerator coach to choose and articulate the right strategy to achieve your organization’s goals. Learn how to evaluate and improve your strategy year after year.

MODULE 4: Financial Business Plan

Review the components of an investment-grade business plan: problem, value-prop, team, aspirational goals, strategy, milestones, metrics, staffing and financial projections.

MODULE 5: Execution

Identify key performance indicators and best practices of Organizational Change Management.

MODULE 6: Revenue Strategy

Learn all the sources of financing available to your nonprofit social enterprise, including corporate sponsorships, major gifts, and legacy planning. Determine how and when to use non-traditional funding sources such as earned revenue and joint ventures.

MODULE 7: Revenue Execution

Engage your board of directors in the revenue strategy, activate your volunteers, and learn how to continually build your revenue and partnership pipeline.

MODULE 8: Tracking, Measuring, and Dashboarding

Put the plan into action with scorecard fundamentals. Dashboard use with staff, leadership, board members, partners and investors.

MODULE 9: Test your Pitch

Create executive summaries and pitch decks for your business and understand.

MODULE 10: Pitch Practice Day

CEOs practice presenting their acceleration frameworks to sponsors, mentors and guests and discuss learnings and long-term goals.

MODULE 11: Pitch Day

Final presentations. The top pitch in each cohort is awarded $10,000

There are no skill or competency prerequisities for this program.

Valid nonprofit status is required to receive the grant award. 

All classes are taught in English.

The Learning Experience

Live lectures and recorded videos make up approximately 60 to 90 minutes of instructional time each week. Assignments and additional coaching are available to help you apply the information and achieve faster results. The content is recorded and available for the duration of your enrollment, making the program flexible for busy schedules.

We have designed this program to fit into your current working life as efficiently as possible. Time will be spent among a variety of activities, including:

Engaging with recorded video content 

Attending webinars and live coaching

Reading or engaging with examples of core topics

Engaging in moderated discussion groups with your cohort peers

Preparing for your pitch to investor-donors

Peer learning adds substantially to the overall experience and is an important part of the program. You can connect and communicate with other participants through our private learning platform.

Technical Requirements

Participants will need the latest version of their preferred browser to access the learning platform. In addition, Microsoft Office and a PDF viewer are required to access documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDF files, and transcripts.

Yes, the learning platform is accessed via the internet, and video content is not available for download. For maximum flexibility, you can access program content from a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device.

Video lectures must be streamed via the internet, and any livestream webinars and coaching sessions will require an internet connection. However, these sessions are always recorded, so you may view them later.

Refund Policy

You may request a full refund within three days of your payment. If your enrollment was previously deferred, you will not be entitled to a refund. Partial (or pro-rated) refunds are not offered. All withdrawal and refund requests should be sent to info@altruistpartners.com.
